Please join Cantabile Chamber Choir and Music Director Stephen Marshall-Ward as we celebrate a holiday concert tradition of more than a decade. Our program will move you as we rejoice in something greater than ourselves, and should serve as a touchstone to ground us all in these challenging times of an ever-changing world. Featuring the premier of “We Come Rejoicing,” written for Cantabile by noted local composer Michael Austin Miller, this diverse concert presents a wide range of choral music from the exquisite polyphony of Gabrieli’s “Jubilate Deo” and de Victoria’s “O Quam Gloriosum” to contemporary classics with lush resonance like Whitacre’s “Alleluia!” and Lauridsen’s “O Nata Lux.” Also represented are delightful carols by John Rutter and rousing gospel music by Jeffrey Ames, plus contemplative chant and the celestial sounds of celtic harp.
