Name: "Song, Sea, and Shore: Sir Walter Scott" with Dr. Gary West
Date: April 30, 2021
Time: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM PDT
Event Description:
This year there are many initiatives planned across Scotland and beyond to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832). Poet, collector, song-smith, inventor of the historical novel – Sir Walter was many things to many people, and by far the most famous Scotsman of his day. For some, he is the man who invented Scotland as we know it: the land of romance, of Celtic warrior heroes, of lochs and glens. And, arguably, none of us would be wearing kilts and tartan if it wasn’t for this man’s vision of a future built on the stories of the past. But what is the story of the man himself? Join Dr. Gary West and the team as they invite you to explore the words, music and landscapes of Sir Walter Scott-land! Members of the Celtic Arts Foundation save 20% on tickets. Please email events@CelticArts.org or call 360-416-4934 to receive the promotional code. Not a member? Join or renew online at CelticArts.org. Ticket holders will be emailed a link to view the performance. Please purchase your ticket by April 30th at 12:00PM in order to receive the viewing link. The event will debut on Friday, April 30th at 5:00PM PST, but ticket holders will have the option to continue watching throughout the weekend.
