  • About

Skagit PUD was formed in 1936, marking 90 years of service to Skagit County. Today, as the county’s largest water system, we serve approximately 116,000 people across Burlington, Mount Vernon, Sedro-Woolley, and the surrounding areas, from Fidalgo Island to Marblemount.

Our water comes primarily from the Skagit River and the Cultus Mountain watershed, treated to exceed federal drinking water standards before it reaches the tap. As a community-owned utility, Skagit PUD is governed by three elected commissioners, keeping decisions local and accountable to the customers we serve.

Reliable water infrastructure underpins the county’s economy, supporting the businesses and employers who depend on it.
