Die Hard

Bruce Willis stars as New York cop John McClane, who flies to Los Angeles to try and re-connect with his estranged wife (Bonnie Bedelia). He joins her at a Christmas party at Nakatomi Plaza, the headquarters of her new employers. But the festivities are interrupted by a group of terrorists -- led by Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) -- who take over the exclusive high-rise, and everyone in it.
